Small business owners are aware of how much the price copier and printer toner can eat into profits. What many entrepreneurs don’t know is that there are toner cartridges available that, while not being a name brand, are both safe and reliable for use in their printers, and also cost way less. For example, let me tell you the story of what happened when one of our clients purchased a large supply of remanufactured Oki 3100n toner.
Frank McNamara, project manager for a regional restaurant supply company, did some searching on the internet. He found an internet supplier who sold compatible Oki toner at prices 50-67% less expensive than what he’d been spending for brand name ink. By replacing the name brand toner with the compatible toner, he was able to lower his total monthly budget by 16%
Frank’s business had a fleet of 200 Oki c3100n machines, and he had some of his employees outfit all of them with remanufactured cartridges. To start out, he was unsure about how well they would print, but he soon had to agree that the remanufactured inks were every bit as high quality as the high-cost brand name inks that his business used to purchase. “I checked out some of the copies personally,” Frank wrote, “and they looked good – good ink yield, adequate coverage, no smudges.”
When you decide to buy an Oki c3100 compatible printer toner, expect it to offer the same or even better quality inks and electronics as the brand name it replaces. Distributors selling compatible cartridges do the same thorough tests as the original producers and also use quality assurance controls to guarantee you the same performance as the brand name, one hundred percent compatibility, and quality as high as the original at a much more attractive price.
Three months later, Frank was named the manager of the month, and this honor was awarded to him partially due to his successful attempts at cutting costs by converting to the compatible Oki 3100 printer toner. Also, Frank’s boss requested that he oversee and manage toner orders for the entire company, giving him the opportunity to help them save tens of thousands of dollars per year.
All of us who need to find the small solutions to increase profits and prevent unnecessary costs should learn from the example in Frank’s letter. Work with your office supplier to find for yourself the cost in using manufacturer’s cartridges versus Oki compatible toner and see how even a minor purchasing change can make a significant difference in your bottom line.
